Hi, I’m Allison!
Early 2018, I made the conscious decision to stop eating animals. I think originally it had to do with health because I felt surrounded by sickness. But deep down, I knew I was living out of alignment with who I was – a kind, compassionate human being. Advocating for love and peace and kindness, yet paying for the complete opposite. I quickly learned the dark side of the meat, egg, and dairy industries. It crushed me. The violence and the brutality. I felt it. I still feel it. I still cry. I don’t think I’ll ever stop crying. And now…I’ll never stop fighting. But it’s not about me…This is for them. It’s human nature to turn away from atrocities, but the only way to end them is to look towards them and to take action and change our behavior accordingly. Please join me and make the connection. Rethink your plate. Even if it’s just one meal per day or one meal per week. Small changes can add up to real differences. Think progress over perfection. It’s always the right time to do the right thing.
My Mission
MN Veg Head can only be described as a calling. In fact, the only one I’ve ever had. It has everything to do with ethics. It’s the #1 driver and always will be. I started blogging as a way to honor the transformation that is occurring in the way we view food and our environment. MN Veg Head is here to translate plant-based cuisine to a broader audience and disrupt the stereotype of vegan food by showcasing the endless possibilities of meatless masterpieces. I love veganizing the favorites that I grew up eating and it’s never been easier with all of the meat alternatives available in today’s supermarkets. I hope the whole world will discover and love plant-based food as much as we do. I heartily welcome both vegans and non-vegans alike. I truly believe a better world starts within each of us.
My Values
The Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like them to treat you.
Authenticity: Never perfect, always genuine. Fearless Realness!
Cause No Unnecessary Harm: Seek to not only do LESS harm, but to do MORE good.
Embrace and Drive Change: There’s always a better way. Be open to new things.
Laugh: It is and always will be the best form of therapy.
