One of my favorite grab-n-go lunches at Whole Foods was their blackened chicken salad wrap. I was reminded of this last time I stopped there and knew immediately this could easily be veganized. So here’s a really good COPYCAT WHOLE FOODS BLACKENED CHICK’N SALAD – VEGAN style! Hope you like it!
How to Make Copycat Whole Foods Vegan Blackened Chick’n Salad
Start by chopping your plant-based chick’n into smaller pieces. Then add the following:
- Vegan mayo
- Sliced green onions
- Shredded carrots
- Diced red onions
- Maple syrup
- Apple cider vinegar
- Whole grain mustard
- Blackened seasoning (or cajun)
- Dijon mustard
- Granulated onion and garlic
Mix together and serve in a tortilla, as a sandwich, or on top of greens for a salad. It’s best after a few hours in the fridge or the next day!
Blackened Seasoning
If you can’t find blackened seasoning in a store, you can easily make your own with spices you might already have. Blackened seasoning is a mixture of chili powder, spices, and herbs. Just mix together the following and store in an airtight container:
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika and onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder, black pepper, sea salt, and cayenne
- ½ teaspoon oregano and thyme

Copycat Whole Foods Blackened Vegan Chick’n Salad
Ingredients
- 8 oz Plant-Based Chick'n Like Sweet Earth
- ½ Cup Vegan Mayo
- ¼ Cup Green Onions Sliced, about 3-4 Stalks
- 1 Large Carrot Shredded
- ½ Red Onion Diced
- 2 tablespoon Blackened Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Whole Grain Mustard
- 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
- ½ teaspoon Granulated Onion Optional
- ½ teaspoon Granulated Garlic Optional
Instructions
- Chop the plant-based chick'n into smaller pieces
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine
- Serve in a tortilla, on a sandwich, or on a bed of greens. Best the next day!
