This Vegan Tofu Feta (that actually crumbles) is one of my favorites to have in the fridge as it makes a great addition to so many things like soup, salad, pasta, and even pizza! It smells, tastes, and even crumbles just like real feta, except the main ingredient here is TOFU!! Hope you try it and love it as much as I do!
Ingredients for Vegan Tofu Feta?
It’s really easy and you might already have these ingredients in your fridge or pantry.
- Firm Tofu
- Refined Coconut Oil
- Lemon
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Sea Salt
- Onion Powder
- Nutritional Yeast (Optional)
- Additional Spices (Optional – Like Dill or Oregano)
To Make This Feta:
The hands on part is actually pretty easy. Anxiously waiting for that crumbly, salty, delicious cheese is the hardest part!
- Add all of the ingredients to a food processor.
- Blend on high until creamy, scraping down the sides, if necessary. Aim for a little graininess as this will give it an authentic feta texture.
- Transfer mixture to a container, packing firmly, and cover or seal.
- Place in the fridge and allow to chill for at least 6-8 hours, or overnight, in order to harden.
I first saw tofu feta on Erin Ireland’s IG. I knew I had to try it so I headed over to her site for the feta recipe and OMG! It was so good! She shared this recipe that actually came from a pizza restaurant in Canada called Virtuous Pie. If you’re ever nearby, DON’T MISS THIS PLACE! Tofu Feta
Ingredients
- 12 Ounces Firm Tofu Drained
- ⅔ Cup REFINED Coconut Oil Melted
- 2 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1-2 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1 tablespoon Nutritional Yeast (Optional)
- Additional Herbs or Spices like Dill or Oregano (Optional)
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth but with a little graininess for an authentic feta texture. Scrape down sides as needed
- Place mixture into a sealable container. Cover and transfer to fridge to firm up for at least 4-6 hours, or overnight
